When visiting St Petersburg you can expect most tourist operators to accept credit cards and speak English but it is rare anywhere else in the city. As we travel around we are used to random people asking where we are from but this week nobody has. It seems they are not interested in foreigners. Everyone seems very serious with no time for frivolities like talking to strangers.
